Privacy Policy
Her Empire is a 100-day planner for your goals and your love life. We built it so your plans stay yours. This policy explains what the app keeps, where it keeps it, and what leaves your device.
The short version
- There is no Her Empire account. The app itself doesn't ask for your name, email or phone number to use it.
- Your goals, check-ins, mood and feeling notes, diary, Love journal and photos are stored only on your device.
- If you use First chat, SOS or profile import, the text you send passes through our server to an AI provider to write a reply. Neither we nor our server keep it. See "AI features" below.
- If you join the waitlist on our website, we keep your email only for launch news. See "Waitlist and launch emails" below.
- We don't sell your data, we don't show ads and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
What the app stores on your device
- Your plans: goals, numbers, Plan B and C, business cards, days, check-ins and weekly scores.
- Your notes: mood and feeling check-ins, shaky-day cards, diary entries and your Love journal.
- Your photos: pictures you choose for your vision board, your Day 0, your proof and your diary. The app only sees the photos you pick.
- Your settings: start date, reminder times, language and the optional first name you type.
On iPhone this data lives in the app's storage on your device. On the web it lives in your browser's storage for this site. We cannot see it, and it is not copied to our servers. The one exception is text you choose to send to an AI feature: it passes through our server on its way to the AI provider and is not kept (see "AI features" below).
What leaves your device
- AI features: First chat, SOS and profile import send the text you choose to an AI provider through our server to write a reply. Details are in "AI features" below.
- Purchases (iPhone): subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. To check whether your subscription is active we plan to use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID and your App Store purchase receipt. It does not receive your plans, notes or photos.
- Photo search: if you search for a photo, the words you type are sent to Unsplash to find images, and the photo you pick is loaded from Unsplash with credit to the photographer.
- Videos and links: inspiration videos play through the official YouTube and TikTok players, and links you open (Pinterest, ChatGPT, Claude, help lines) open in your browser. Those services apply their own privacy policies.
- Web hosting: the web version is served by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site.
- Voice typing: when you tap a mic, your device or browser recognizes the words (see "Voice typing" below). The app gets the text only.
- Backups you export: a backup file goes only where you choose to save or send it.
AI features
Three features use AI. Each one tells you what is sent the first time you use it and offers a way without AI, and the rest of the app works without them.
- First chat: your answers to the first questions, sent once to write your first plan.
- SOS: what you write in the chat, plus a summary of your goals and notes (your goal, love goal, your line, your last 7 check-ins and a summary of your notes). Never your name, email or photos.
- Profile import: the text you paste in, sent once to sort it into your profile.
Where it goes: the text travels over an encrypted connection to a server function we run on Supabase (United States, AWS us-east-1 region), which passes it to the AI provider (currently NVIDIA) and returns the reply to your device. The reply is saved only on your device.
What is kept: our server does not store or log the text you send, the summary or the reply. The request goes to the AI provider without your name, email or device ID. The AI provider's own terms govern how it handles requests.
Limits: to stop abuse, the app sends a random device ID with First chat and SOS. The server keeps only a count of requests under a salted hash of that ID, for at most 2 days, and never next to what you wrote.
Crisis words: if what you write shows signs of a crisis, it is not sent to the AI model. You get a fixed reply with crisis lines instead.
If you say no: nothing is sent. SOS and First chat keep working with built-in steps that run on your device, and you can skip profile import. If the AI can't answer, the app falls back to the same on-device steps.
If the AI provider changes, we'll update this page before the change takes effect, and SOS asks you again before sending anything.
Who handles your data and where
We use these service providers to run Her Empire. Some of them are outside the Republic of Korea, so using these features means your data is transferred abroad as described here.
- Supabase, Inc. (United States, AWS us-east-1): runs the server functions for the AI features. What: the text you send to an AI feature, a random device ID and standard connection data such as your IP address. When and how: each time you send, over an encrypted connection. Why: to pass your text to the AI provider, return the reply and limit requests. How long: the text is not stored; request counts are kept under a salted hash for at most 2 days.
- NVIDIA Corporation (United States): the AI provider that writes the reply. What: the text you send to an AI feature. When and how: each time you send, over an encrypted connection, through our Supabase function. Why: to write the reply. How long: not stored by Her Empire; the provider's own terms apply.
- Vercel Inc. (United States): serves the web version and keeps standard server logs, as described above.
- Apple, and RevenueCat once it is in use (United States): handle iPhone purchases, as described above.
If you don't want your data transferred abroad, don't use the AI features. Everything else in the app keeps working on your device. You can also write to us at any time.
Voice typing
When you tap a mic button, your phone or browser turns your words into text in the box you're writing in. The sound may be processed by the company behind your device or browser: on iPhone and in Safari that is Apple (on your iPhone itself when it supports on-device recognition), and in Chrome it is Google's speech service. Her Empire never receives or stores the audio and never sends it to us. Only the text you see in the box is saved, on your device, like the rest of your notes. Listening starts only when you tap the mic and stops when you tap it again or leave the screen.
Waitlist and launch emails
If you join the Her Empire waitlist on our website, we collect the following:
- What we collect: your email address, a source tag (for example ig-dated, which shows where you came from), the version of the consent text you agreed to, and the page you signed up on.
- Why: to send you launch news and planning notes about Her Empire.
- Where it is kept: in a spreadsheet or hosted store that the owner of Her Empire controls.
- How long: until you unsubscribe, or 12 months after launch, whichever comes first.
- Deleting or unsubscribing: reply to any email from us, or write to hello@herempire.app. We will delete your address and stop sending.
- Sharing: we don't share your email with third parties.
- Age: the waitlist is for people aged 13 and older.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device. If you turn them off or decline the permission, everything else keeps working.
Children
Her Empire is not made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting your data
Open Settings and tap Delete all data. Everything on that device is erased right away and can't be recovered. Deleting the app (or clearing this site's data in your browser) also removes it. Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription: on iPhone, cancel in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions.
Your rights
Because your app records stay on your device, you can view, export (Settings > Backup), correct or delete them yourself at any time. If you have a question about any data handled by a service listed above, write to us and we'll help.
Changes
If we change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
